Declaration on Digital Accessibility

General Information about the Website

This website covers the main online presence www.vollmarcasting.com.
The site is operated by Vollmar Casting, an agency for actor representation and casting management based in Germany.

The website presents the agency’s work, services, references, and contact options. It is aimed at actors, production companies, directors, and other partners from the film, television, and theatre industries.

Our goal is to provide essential information in a clear, accessible, and user-friendly way.

Use of the Online Service

The website has been designed to be largely accessible and easy to use. It can be accessed without any special technical requirements. Key features include:

  • Responsive design: The website is optimized for use on desktop, tablet, and smartphone.
  • Clearly structured navigation: A clear main menu with sub-sections (About, Expertise, News, Career, Contact) allows intuitive orientation.
  • Central contact options: Contact details are accessible at all times through the main navigation and footer.
  • Focus on clarity: Simple typography, readable contrast, and straightforward language.

Validity of the Statement

This accessibility statement applies to the online service published under the domain
www.vollmarcasting.com

as well as to all associated subpages and subdomains, provided they are operated by the same provider.
Assignment is generally determined by a shared legal notice (imprint) or by the contractual and technical responsibility of the same organization.

Responsible:

Self-Understanding

Accessibility is an essential feature of modern websites today – it is a mark of quality, enhances the user experience, and ensures legal compliance. Enabling full access for all user groups reflects our corporate understanding of digital responsibility and social participation.

Our Commitment

We aim to reduce existing barriers and continuously improve accessibility within the scope of our technical and creative possibilities. This includes:

  • Semantic, well-structured HTML markup
  • Logical keyboard navigation and clear focus guidance
  • Readable typography and descriptive links
  • Alternative texts for relevant images
  • Reduced-motion support for users with motion sensitivity

An audio description for visual media is not provided, as its implementation would be disproportionate in effort and technically not feasible given the nature of the website’s content.

Applicable Standard

Our website complies with the following legal and normative frameworks:

  • German Regulation on Accessible Information Technology (BITV 2.0)
  • German Act on Equal Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities (BGG)
  • Directive (EU) 2016/2102
  • WCAG 2.1 – aiming for conformance level AA+

Audit Completed

Status: This online service has been tested for accessibility.
Conducted by: ALEKS & SHANTU GmbH
Period: November 11, 2025.
Level of compliance:

The website is currently not fully compliant with the requirements of WCAG 2.1 at conformance level AA.

Some parts of the online service consist of legacy content published before June 28, 2025. According to § 2 (3) BFSG, these are subject to grandfathering provisions, which means there is no immediate legal obligation to ensure full accessibility.

Nevertheless, our goal is to gradually reduce existing barriers and adapt protected content to the WCAG 2.1 AA requirements in the long term – as far as technically and economically feasible.

Optimization Strategy

Our optimization strategy follows WCAG 2.1, conformance level AA, and additionally aims for selected AAA-level requirements (AA+), where technically and editorially appropriate.

The goal is to continuously improve accessibility without compromising system stability or user experience. Accordingly:

  • new content and functions are created to be accessible,
  • existing components are revised for accessibility with every technical, functional, or design update,
  • content maintenance and updates are carried out with accessibility awareness,
  • voluntary extensions are implemented according to selected WCAG 2.1 AAA criteria, where feasible within technical, design, and economic limits.

This component-based and ongoing adjustment process serves the sustainable improvement of digital accessibility in accordance with the BFSG – without compromising system stability or user experience.

An overview of identified optimization potential and planned measures with a timeline is documented in the following section of this statement.

Optimization Strategy

Despite largely achieving Level AA compliance, the goal is to continuously develop the online service further and – where appropriate – incorporate selected WCAG Level AAA (AA+) requirements:

This component-based and ongoing adjustment process serves the sustainable improvement of digital accessibility in accordance with the BFSG – without compromising system stability or user experience.

Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with conformance level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.2) and the applicable European standards due to the following issues and exceptions.

1.1.1 Meaningful Text Alternatives for Non-Text Content (A)
Not all non-text content (e.g. images, icons, controls) includes appropriate alternative text that clearly describes its purpose or content. This may result in a loss of information for screen reader users.
Example: A graphic in the header area without an alt attribute.

1.2.2 Captions for Videos (A)
Videos do not consistently include captions that convey spoken content and relevant sounds, which disadvantages users who are deaf or hard of hearing.

1.2.3 Audio Description or Full Text Alternative for Videos (A)
Some videos lack audio descriptions or equivalent text alternatives for visual information, making it difficult for blind users to fully understand the content.

1.2.5 Audio Description for Videos (AA)
Pre-recorded videos either lack or have insufficient audio descriptions, preventing blind and visually impaired users from perceiving visual content adequately.

1.3.1 Info and Relationships (A)
The HTML structure and semantic markup of content are not consistently implemented (e.g. some text elements are not enclosed in < p > tags, or headings are missing < h2 > and similar tags). This can interfere with the proper functioning of assistive technologies.

2.1.1 Keyboard Accessibility (A)
Not all functions on the website are fully operable via keyboard. This means users with motor impairments who cannot use a mouse may be unable to interact with or access certain areas.

2.1.1 Keyboard (A)
Not all functions of the website are fully operable via keyboard. This means that users with motor impairments who cannot use a mouse may be unable to interact with certain areas or access content.
Example: Image tiles on the homepage, back-to-top link are not reachable via the Tab key.

2.4.7 Visible Focus (AA)
The visible keyboard focus (e.g. through an outline or color change) is not always clearly identifiable. Without a distinct focus indicator, keyboard users cannot easily tell which element is currently active.

2.5.3 Visible Label (A)
Some interactive elements lack a visible label or do not have a matching accessible name (e.g. via aria-label). As a result, users of speech recognition software may not be able to activate these elements reliably if the spoken command doesn’t match the visible text. This can also cause confusion for screen reader users when the audible and visible labels differ.

3.1.2 Language of Parts (AA)
Content sections in other languages (e.g. individual words, quotes, or menu items) are not always correctly marked with the corresponding language code. As a result, assistive technologies may read these parts incorrectly.

4.1.2 ARIA Support (A)
User interface components do not consistently include all required roles, states, or properties (e.g. aria-* attributes), preventing screen readers and other assistive technologies from correctly interpreting all information.

Objective: AA+ as Standard

The goal is to reliably meet the legal requirements of WCAG 2.1 Level AA and additionally implement elements from the extended area of digital accessibility (partly WCAG 2.1 AAA) – where appropriate and technically feasible within the project context.

Implementation takes place within the framework of re-audits, module-specific updates, and project-related maintenance processes. All relevant measures, deadlines, and responsibilities are documented transparently.

Technical Requirements

This website is optimized for current browser generations (e.g. Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) and supports assistive technologies such as screen readers and zoom functions. System settings (e.g. reduced motion) are taken into account where technically possible.

Report Barriers

This online service has been tested for accessibility. In addition, a comprehensive re-audit is conducted once a year.

If further barriers are identified during your visit to the website or if you notice suggestions for improvement, please provide informal feedback.
